Late June 2005:

We came to a decission to call it a day with the band, for a few months myself, Gary and Wes had been playing together in a Beatles band with a guy called Jon G, we tried to run the 2 bands alongside each other but in the end the Beatles band came more to the foreground and was more fun to play in than Loaded which had become a bit like hard work especially with the amount of time needed for Gary, Wes and myself to dedicate towards two bands.

And so ends a pretty fun packed era for us which has spanned 4 years, seen 25ish different band members, ranging from the talented to the downright shite, top blokes to gay Italians and suicide bomber lookalikes, rock and roll Gallagher-esq bust ups complete with flying guitars and pizza, bum notes, shit jokes, alcohol induced midnight jam sessions, hurling insults at pensioners and Irish people in crowds, coming on stage to Primal Scream while carrying a public telephone drunk - and above all: friendship, laughter, some fucking good gigs and serious rock and roll.

The end?

For information on what John and Gary are now doing please go to The Riffs part of the website.

8th June 2005:

Line up change again, we now have Wes playing lead guitar, I have shifted to the bass full time and former Checkmate and Grand Theft Audio drummer Ket has filled in on sticks - initial band practices have gone well and we're hoping to be out gigging in July.

17th May 2005:

Miguel has stood down as drummer due to his work commitments at his internet cafe, Cybernet, in Adeje - Suerte Migi!

As a replacement we have taken on my good friend Wes who I have done numerous acoustic gig's with in the past. Wes is predominantly a guitarist / vocalist but has a natural talent for drums aswell. A complete Beatles freak, he fits into the band effortlessly.

6th May 2005:

The band have begun rehearsals again after a 2 month break which has seen me go to New York and Miguel has started up an internet cafe in Adeje - busy bees are we. Hopefully we'll be back gigging in June.

15th March 2005: Small break.

With O'Callaghan's bar changing hands at the end of March, we won't be playing there until we've had a chance to speak to the new management and see if they are interested. I'm going away to New York in the middle of April so we're going to wait until I get back before we go looking for any more gigs, this will also give the island a chance to warm up for summer where we'll be playing to a more like minded audience.

12th March 2005: Funniest gig ever....

We almost didn't play as things have been so quiet, we kicked off around midnight and had a great time, some quality cracks, in jokes, piss takes and general tomfoolery - cracking night. An Irish crowd came in an asked us to play the Irish Rover (do we look like fidle players or the Dubliner band?) which we obviously didn't do - we were (begrudgingly) joined onstage by one of the Irish people who wanted to sing a song with us playing along - now since we generally don't listen to Irish music (unless you count U2) so we got miguel playing a drum beat and me and Lee muted our strings in time with the drums while Gary winced in the corner wishing he was somewhere else......about half way through the (very long) song, somewhere around the part where she was singing about Irish lepraucauns frollicking through fields of Guiness Lee turned to me and said "JP! JP! Do a fucking power chord!" and so I did - Nice wee B5 ala Metallica was neatly plopped in where it really shouldn't have been - and really wasn't welcome. Oh well!

The Night ended with an encore of Coldplays Yellow, which we performed very well until right at the end Gary cracked up laughing at one of the girls dancing infront of us because she was wearing what looked like tinsel or some other form of Xmas decoration - I think the quote at the end was "I want a contractual stipulation that no one wears Christmas decorations while I'm singing."

10th March 2005: No second gig Syndrome!

A much quieter night than saturday night but we'd expected it to be like that - the few people who were there made a hell of a noise and we had a great night. played a few new songs and shook the building with a bit of volumage which promted complaints from the Merry Monk (or Harry Monk as we reffer to it), however upon careful consideration we decided not to listen to them and turned ourselves up to 11.

5th March 2005: O'Callaghans Apolo Centre.

Last nights gig at the apolo centre in Los Cristianos was on the whole a success, plenty of people came along and we played for well over 2 hours finishing around 1am - fell out of the bar at 5am....ugh..

1st March 2005: O'Callaghans Gig Announced.

The bands next gig will be at the (re) opening night of O'Callaghans bar on the Apollo centre in Los Cristianos this Saturday 5th March at 10.30pm.

22nd February 2005: 4th Grandee's Gig.

Started late because of the champions league football, took us a few songs for Martin and Dave to get the levels right but on the whole another good night - met some nice Irish girls.....

15th February 2005: 3rd Grandee's Gig.

This was the 3rd anniversary, to the day, of our first gig, which coincidentaly was played by just myself, Gary and Miguel in Yesteryears way back in 2002. With Lee on holiday we were forced to switch roles on a few occassions and play certain songs on the bass which we weren't used to - but on the whole the gig went very well.

8th February 2005: Second Gig Syndrome.

Our second Grandee O'Donnell gig was a bit strange for us, we didn't really click together for some reason but we pulled through. Gary, Miguel and I must now do the next gigs without Lee who is going to England for a week.

5th February 2005: Grandee O'Donnells Gig.

Last night we played Grandee O'Donnells in Golf Del Sur - went really well, for some reason we were all a bit nervous at first probably due to new surroundings but we got into our stride and played a really good gig. .

28th January 2005: Back To Zee Drawing Board.

By the time my ankle had healed Christmas was upon us, then New Year, then Reyes and so we started looking for gigs in Las Americas around mid January but to no avail. Things are quiet here at the moment hence no one really wants to take on a band. Had some interest from the Golf Del Sur area, but we'll wait and see.

Finally we have the DVD of our first night in Rooney's, I watched it and was pleasantly surprised - I didn't realise we were really that fucking good! Hopefully I'll have some of the vids online soon.

15th December 2004: Rooney's Closed.

Just like almost every bar we've ever played in, Rooney's fell victim to closure after one of the partners "forgot" to pay the rent. Luckily the other partner was good enough to phone us and tell us to come and remove our gear, which we got out on Monday morning.

So we're back to the drawing board, in need of a gig elsewhere - shame really as we had it really good at Rooney's.

12th December 2004: Latest gig.

Our first Saturday night gig at Rooneys was a success, Martin, Dave and I had spent 4 hours on Friday night laying a carpet on the stage along with hanging material on each wall and the ceiling which cut out the feedback which had dogged our last gig on Tuesday.

On the down side, I managed to sprain my ankle while doing a guitar jump on stage during Rocks - very embarrassing, very funny, very unfortunate - I may play Tuesdays gig on crutches!

6th December 2004: Rooney's gigs.

We will be playing Rooney's bar in Patch, Las Americas every Tuesday night and one more night a week to be announced.

6th December 2004: New Site launched.

Bully's new Loaded logo is now up on the site along with a neat new design, all new pictures online along with some live tracks from the first Rooney's Bar gig - check out the Audio section.

Hopefully we'll soon have some video footage from last weeks gig, once we figure out how to get the tape off the camera!!

There are also updates to the band member section, biography & gigs .
